Argos Hill Windmill in earlier times

Argos Hill still under threat!

This wonderful post mill is one of only 50 surviving in the UK and is now being considered as a candidiate to generate electricity.

Peter Hill of the Sussex Mills Group said

"It's stupid. How do you convert an old windmill into a turbine? It's a bit of a pipe dream really. "Anything to preserve an old windmill is good but I don't think this is the way to do it."

Mildred Cookson of the SPAB said

"Too much historic fabric would be lost if this idea goes ahead. The Local Authority should recognise their responsibility and protect it properly."
