National bodies
SPAB SPAB Mills Section The UK’s oldest body fighting to save old mills from decay, demolition or unsympathetic repair.
The International Molinoligical Society The International Molinoligical Society The only organisation devoted to mills on a worldwide scale.
Mills Research Group Mills Research Group A voluntary society of enthusiasts who are each conducting research into some aspect of traditional milling, whether it be by wind, water or muscle power.
Society for the Preservation of Ancient and Traditional Irish Mills Launched in October 2001, the Society aims to encourage and assist in the preservation of Ireland's old and ancient industrial buildings.
Regional groups
Hampshire Mills Group Hampshire Mills Group Regional mills group based in Hampshire, England, interested in mills of all types; many members own mills and welcome the opportunity to share their enthusiasm.
Friends of Norfolk Mills Friends of Norfolk Mills (was the Norfolk Mills Group) A group of mixed ages who are dedicated to the wellbeing of all Norfolk mills.
North West Mills Group North West Mills Group Non-profit voluntary society established in 1981 promoting Watermills and Windmills in the North West of England.
Suffolk Mills Group Suffolk Mills Group A voluntary association founded in 1977 for those helping to care for Suffolk's Heritage of old windmills and watermills.
Sussex Mills Group Sussex Mills Group Promotes the study and the restoration of mills and associated artefacts within the counties of East and West Sussex in the United Kingdom.
Wessex Mills Group Wessex Mills Group The Group was formed in 2003 as a centre for the milling heritage of Devon, Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire.
Individual mills

A growing number of individual mills are supporting the Mills Archive by becoming Friends and backing us with regular donations. They have a dedicated page of their own.

Windmill Hill Windmill In 1996 the owner established a charitable trust to take over ownership of the windmill, making it possible to attract funding to restore this Grade II* listed building. Work began in 2003 and was completed within three years.
Other important sites
Jonathan Neville’s Norfolk Mills Jonathan Neville’s Norfolk Mills One of the best UK sites containing a considerable amount of historical and genealogical data along with over 1,400 photographs. There are individual pages for over 600 water, wind and steam mills.
Mark Berry’s Windmill World Mark Berry’s Windmill World A UK site dealing with windmills around the world, together with some information about watermills.
UK Mills A site devoted to all forms of wind and water powered machinery in the UK run by Nick Ashton.
Engineering timelines A site covering engineering in the UK, including mills.
