Windmill Surprise by Peter Cobley

- An Icelandic encounter published in Mill News in October 2008. Peter unexpectedly found an intersting windmill on Iceland.
It was built in 1840 and was last used in 1917 for grinding imported wheat from Denmark. It is a post mill, sitting directly on rock with doubled crosstrees held down with a stone wall and discarded millstones.
