Following yesterday's Kent Mills Sociey inaugural meeting, I popped down to Stodmarsh windpump today, to find it in the final throes of collapse

The cap/body with windshaft etc has fallen into the river, leaving the trestle hanging onto the riverbank precariously.
Guy Blythman has contacted the owner, who has agreed to a work-in here next Sunday afternoon May 30, which of course the KMS will be heavily involved with even if it is only a small handful of people. What we can do in the work-in is still open to question. We need to draw together a lot of help quickly (e.g. metal detectors, waders, diggers and perhaps lifting gear etc ), and would appreciate all offers of help to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)."
