Finlay Macleod has completed his book on the Norse mills of Lewis and the publishers hope to have it available at the end of June. Finlay has written an introduction to the book - certainly worth a look!

The introduction and full details are available on the Mills Archive bookshop at http://shop.millsarchivetrust.org/
As Finlay is a Friend of the Mills Archive, we are featuring the book on our shop front page (see the link above), where you can place a pre-publication order for the book. We will then send it to you as soon as it appears.
If you prefer you can send a cheque (UK residents only) for £18.50 (£15 + £3.50 p&p) to the Mills Archive at Watlington House, 44 Watlington St, Reading RG1 4RJ.
The book contains a detailed gazetteer of over 250 sites where mills were once worked throughout the island, along with a map reference for each and a simple grading of the condition of the sites.
