Within the last few weeks, I have purchased a windmill photo probably dating from about 1920 that shows a post mill with the remains of a roof mounted fantail. I attach a copy of this photo.

I have searched my collection of books, postcards and photographs and have found references to at least 15 mills with fantails of this type. Unfortunately none of these 15 match the mill shown on this photo.  Can anyone throw any light on its location?

I'm really surprised that this mill has baffled everyone so far - including myself. The fantail arrangement is reminiscent of some West Kent/ East Sussex post mills such as Winchelsea, Icklesham Hogg Hill, Lydd post mill and others. The notch at the bottom of the buck also points to South East England. However, the windows are definitely not from these parts and would point to it being East Anglian - possibly Essex.
The photograph is not particularly old which points to the mill standing well into the 20th century. How can it have managed to get under everyone's radar?
I'm intrigued by this and really hope it can be named.
