A FORMER owner of Skidby Windmill has died. Joseph Thompson, 94, was descended from the Thompson family who had run Skidby Mill since the 19th century. Mr Thompson sold the mill to Beverley Borough Council for £1 in 1966 and was instrumental in setting up the Museum Of East Riding Rural Life, which now occupies the windmill's outbuildings.
