The Mills Archive has rescued over 1 million documents and images that might otherwise have ended up in a landfill site.

Please help us to make them more accessible and to increase public interest in mills.

The Mills Archive is one of the world's great mill collections. It is an Aladdin's cave filled with memories, free to users and run by volunteers. The collections show the rich and diverse crafts, buildings, machinery, equipment and people involved with mills in the UK and around the world.

We all believe in the cultural and educational values of traditional mills and wish to turn that into practical support. The group aims to stimulate interest and public support for the work of the Archive and to raise money to augment its routine funding.

We extend a warm welcome to family, local and national historians as well as to those who simply want to find out more about our milling heritage.

The Friends organisation is part of the Mills Archive Trust, which is a Registered Charity No 1091534
