New artworks donated to the Archive

This week we received two new contrasting additions to our artwork. One is an impressive pencil drawing of Ramsey Mill in Essex, the other a striking watercolour.

Poster Image

The pencil drawing’s artist is Christine Slade and the image is dated as 1985.

The second piece of artwork is a water colour painting of Burton Dassett Mill by a T. Osborne Robinson. Also on the back label is printed the “Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours”, at 195 Piccadilly, London.

While both depict post mills, their contrasting style makes them a refreshing addition to our growing collection of donated artwork.

You can see both pieces of art on display in our Library and Reading Room.
